The Internet or World Wide Web can not be separate from the word of search engine. Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing, are several big players of search engine industry. Most people who visit the Internet are always uses their services to fulfill their needs. I have posted several articles about Google in http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com/ , hope you like it. Some basic facts

a.Every word matters. Generally, all the word you put in the query will be used.

b.Search is always case insensitive. A search for Forward and Spot Contract risks is the same with a 
   search for forward and spot contract risks.

c.Generally, punctuation is ignored, including @#$%^&()=+[]\ and other special characters.

Tips for better searches :

Keep it simple. If you are looking for a pizza restaurant, just enter pizza and the name of your town or your zip code. Most queries do not require advance operators or unusual syntax. Simple is good.

Think how the page you are looking for will be written. The search engine is not a human. It is a program that matches the words you give to pages on the web. Use the words that are most likely to appear on the page. For example, instead of saying my head hurts, say headache. Because that’s the term a medical page will use.

Describe what you need with as few terms as possible. The goal of each word in a query is to focus it further. Since all words are used, each additional word limits the result. If you limit too much, you will miss a lot of useful information. The main advantage to starting with fewer keywords is that, if you don’t get what you need, the result will likely give you a good indication of what additional words are needed to refine your result on the next search. Example, weather New York is a simple way to find the weather and likely to give better result than the longer weather report for New York, United States of America.

Choose descriptive words. The more unique the word is the more likely you are to get relevant results. Words that are not very descriptive, like ‘document’, ‘website’, ‘company’, are usually not needed. Keep in mind, however, that even if the word has the correct meaning but it is not the one most people use. For example celebrity ringtones is more descriptive and specific that celebrity sounds.

How to increase Alexa Rank

We have discussed about Alexa and Google PageRank in my last posting. Now we continue the topic to How to increase your Alexa PageRank .

To increase your Alexa rank in long run, I would highly recommended that one focus on developing quality content which attracts and maintains a large audience instead of purely focusing on artificially increasing your Alexa Rank. Great link worthy content will leads to a natural increase in site traffic and is on excellent way to passively increase your Alexa Rank. It is important to emphasize that you should devote most of your efforts in growing your site audience alongside integrated implementation of any of the following tips below :

Install the Alexa toolbar and set your blog as your homepage. This is the most basic step.

Put up an Alexa Rank widget on your website. I did this a few days ago and receive a fair amount of clicks everyday. According to some, each click counts as a visit even if the toolbar is not used by the visitor.

What Is Alexa Page Rank ?

Early in this morning I was surprised when I took a glance at my blog – http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com/ My Alexa Ranking is down (numbers shown at the widget is up about 5 thousands digits. If I am not mistaken, the rating has increased a couple days ago. I soon search the internet and find the explanation. What is Alexa page rank anyway? Here it is:

Alexa Traffic rank is a new tool following the introduction of the Google page rank system. Alexa gives each site and its relative pages a traffic rank which in theory shows how popular your site is on the internet.

Although the Alexa traffic rank is a lot easier to understand then the Google page rank system I feel it is important to explain how it works.

A brief description as follow :

The Alexa traffic is calculated from the millions of Alexa tollbars and their users. Each toolbar records what web sites you visit. This data is through to Alexa headquarters which is then sorted, counted and computed to produce the Alexa traffic rank that we see on our Alexa toolbars today.

The traffic rank is calculated from 3 months of historical traffic which comes from the millions of Alexa toolbars over the Internet.

The final figure is combined from measure of page views (the number of pages viewed by toolbar users) and users (percentage of all internet users who visit a given site).

The easiest way to check the traffic rank of a site is to download the Alexa Toolbar which will tell you the traffic rank of a site when you surf the internet. I find this explanation from the web. Keywords, Domain and Blog Platform

I am proud to say that I love writing and literature. When I met my old friends, they often laugh if I told them that I am working at a Bank in a financial services department and that’s means dealing with numbers.

I created my first blog in 2008 and a lot of articles written since then. Some of my blog was closed and the rest are still active. I use blog instead of Website because my lack of understanding about programming skill. Using Wordpress or Blogger as a blog platform provide me with the simplest way to joint the internet community and get attention from all over the world through my writing.

I want to make a confession, http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com is my seventh blog, and I still make mistake when created it. Yes it has indexed by Google, approved by Adsense and my Alexa ranking keep increasing all the time,I am pretty sure when Google starting to renew the page rank review, this blog will at least get page rank 1-2. So where is the main mistake? So many mistakes, the fatal one comes from the content of the blog - the blog main topic and the domain name.

I soon realize when someone types the keywords content writer in Google search engine, it will display another websites or blogs. The search engine must find it difficulty to recognize my blog since it is followed by characters –id. The domain name should be the same with the master Keyword of the blog.

The content or articles in my blogs do not point on a special topic. This blog contains a lot of topics and discussion, it you are aiming for a certain community as your readers/visitors then you should not make this kind of mistake.

Well, as a beginner, I will never give up and keep improving my skill to become a good writer and help people who need guidance about the exciting world of the Internet.

How To Get Indexed By Google

Has your sites indexed by Google? The truth is, a doubt come out when I started to write this article. Why? From all seven blogs that I have, this is the one which get indexed by Google. Several books suggest to submit the website/blog to Search Engine Sumission such as Jayde, they will surely get your website listing, but it will not do any good if you want result in a short time. Free Search Engine Submission require times and sometimes payment to get their premium services.

I believe many beginner experienced the same problem like I do. We created a website or a blog and then get ignored by Google and make us feel hopeless. There are actually a few tips to get your site/blog get indexed. They are:

Put a link in an existing site. It is the most simple one. You could search the web and put comments on several website that has similar topic with your site. When Google found your link, they surely will put some attention to your website.

Add your URL to Google. This sentence is self explanatory. Click the link to go to page.

Use tools from Google. I personally use Google Webmaster Tools  and created a sitemap to my Blog. If you use Wordpress as your platform, you could easily set this up. Wordpress provide an automatic plug in to get indexed by Google. If you use Blogger then you should put rss.xml after your domanin name. Example : my blog name is http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com/ , so i just write down http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com/rss.xml to a blank place where they ask you to put your sitemap. After a while, kindly check your website/blog if Google has indexed them or not. Just type in search engine site:http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com , if the result is like the picture below, then you get their attention.

Get enough of these backlinks and your natural ranking will improve within a week's time. But how?

In order to get quality backlinks you need to visit quality sites. Look for forums that you can visit and post to. Write articles that point back to your main URL. Create Squidoo Lenses that have your URL in them and so on. In fact, everything you write or create on the web should include your main webpage's URL so that the engines find it everywhere. This secret is really the key to LONG TERM rankings!

When pages in your site link to each other, than the audience or readers of your blog will stay longer in your site.

Back Links
Back link is an inward link to your site that may or may not be reciprocated with an outward link back. If page A links to page B then a back link would be a link which goes from page B back to page A. For Example, let’s say you find an interesting article on web and you require the article to be displayed on your website hence you link the article to your website. Now your website acts as a back link to that article or to the URL where the article originally located.
There are several ways to increase back links, you could put a lots of comments to another blog, it is important to noticed that the blog it self should have the same topic of interest as your website or blog. Never Give Up

“Never, never, never, never give up”
It is a very good quote from Winston Churcill, a British Orator, Author and Prime Minister during World War II. Today writing has something to do with above quote.
As usual at noon, I walk out from my office heading to my regular place to have lunch. The place I used to eat is actually a very simple and small house that providing Chinese menu for lunch. The price is actually cheap if I compare it with the price listed in Chinese Restaurant. That is my regular activity at noon. Actually I will not talk about the food or how delicious the soup that they offered me. I want to share to all readers of http://contentwriter-id.blogspot.com something about life, to be specific it is the importance of Anger.
Nine years ago, my life has no purpose, no money in my pocket, jobless, no such things like goods friends beside me or someone I could rely to, every one avoid me cause it is no fun to get along with me. Mother passed away a long time ago and Father was too busy looking for money to support my brothers education fee. I didn’t blame him, he is the best parent for me. He has a strong dedication to his family even when everything is turning upside down at us.
At that moment, Life is blank, even the closest relative would not help us when we are in trouble. I still remembered when Fathers beg them to lend him some money to pay for home expenses, they treat us like we are begger. At that time I am so angry but left with no choice to accept their action. I said to myself ,I swear that I will never forget this moment,  I will remembered each of every one face that treat my Father and my family with disrespect and one day I will show them that we are not a bunch of useless people, I will prove them wrong.
I used this as a motivation whenever something painful or I have to go through a hard time of my live. Time goes by, both of my brothers successfully finished their high school and now working and be able to support their own need. My sister has became a Manager from one of travel Agent in Indonesia. She travels a lot to East Europe and really enjoyed herself. How about me, well I am not proud to say that right now I am able to support my family and my father, have enough money to spend, cars and home are available even it is not as glamour as you think it is.
The point is I use my weakness to support my life, so don’t hate your anger, but used it to give a strong feed back for yourself. NEVER GIVE UP and keep trying until your physical body is not able to support your action.  How about those people that I hate the most in my past time? I will be honest to you, I still hate them and also thank them for letting me know one of the secret to master if I want to change my life. I have been in a very bad and desperate situation that you will never imagine and even I could not describe it in words but I survive and live to tell the story. Something bad is not always bad if you can use it wisely.

Foreign Exchange Risk - FX Risk

There is good saying that I recently saw in the Internet. They said that a good writer will never run out of topic to write. Maybe I am not a good writer but a fresh idea always pop up in my mind. Today topic actually just show up this morning, an Account Officer came to my office to discuss about Foreign Exchange Facility. If I am not mistaken, two years ago I had experienced the same case and close the deal smoothly and made profit. Some people always find it hard to understand when it comes to number especially about Currency Exchange, so I would like to share some information regarding how we manage to identifying and managing the risk, we usually refer the word to FX Risk.

Identifying the risk

Business that trade or have operations overseas are likely to be exposed to foreign exchange risk arising from volatility in the currency markets. The most common cause of its exposure arises from having to pay invoices for imported raw materials priced in a foreign currency or receiving it for your exported finished goods. However, exposure can also arise from your competitors having cost base and/or selling their products in a foreign currency. The impact that exchange rate fluctuations have on profitability will vary but in many cases it can be significant.

Managing the risk

There are three basic alternative methods to manage FX Risk

1. Do nothing and buy or sell your currency in the spot market. You act on the day you want to buy or sell. This approach means you will not know how much money you will need to pay or receive until the day in question – this can be a high risk strategy as the exchange rate moved significantly.
2. Lock in to fixed rates. As soon as you become aware of a need to exchange currency at a future date, then you can fix the exchange rate by booking a forward contract. This approach provides certainty but you could suffer an opportunity loss if rates subsequently move in your favour and you are obliged to transact at the forward contract rate.
3. Use flexible products. A currency option will over you to the potential for upside benefit if rates move in your favour – like a spot deal, but will provide protection against adverse rate movements – like forward contract. For this flexibility commonly Banks will charge premium.

I fully understand that there are many words such as Spot, Forward that will sound strange to someone who are not involved in Economy or Banking sectors. A Fight Against China

Now days, I can assure you that even a small children have heard the name of China. The largest population country of the world. Well, for common people like me who is not involved directly in Economy and business, but always keep staring at my computer writing a content for a Blog then the issue about China is still fresh in my head when they have problem with another largest player in the Internet – Google.

I won’t discuss their issue with Google since you can browse it and read it a lot in the internet. I am interested to write about China because today my friend asks me to buy a pair of sport shoes from him. It is a very attractive and beautiful one, original made from USA. If I buy it, then it will cost me about IDR 750,000 equivalent to USD 70. I almost took out money from my pocket but suddenly something came across my mind. I could find it as low as IDR 75,000 from the local market - my mistake for not mentioned before that it was Nike. Of course it is not originally made in USA but made in China with the exact size, color and shape. Do you see the price difference between it. It was only one example on how China products conquer almost the entire markets of retail products in my beloved Country – Indonesia.

A brief about how China start to penetrate ASEAN markets: China initial suggestion for the CAFTA (China ASEAN Free Trade Area) was raised in November 2000 by Prime Minister Zhu Rongji, proposed to explore the establishment of free trade relationship. By the year of 2010 ASEAN member will open their market in certain key sectors to China.

And now the threat begins, lots of cheap products had entered our local market, making local producers and seller start to cry. They can not compete with China products. Many of independent association start complaining this condition to the Government but it is too late, they have signed the agreement and there is no turning back. As I write this article, the resistance is still going on.

People are now prefer to choose a cheap and reasonable price of product rather than buying branded products, meanwhile some of them are still loyal with the branded one. How do you ask rich person who always ride a Harley Davidson as their favorite vehicle to switch using a China vehicle which is surely cheaper, attractive and less oil consumption? It is difficult , when money is not the main issue than we could stop talking about China. Actually there are a lot to talk about when it comes to China expansion in Asia and Europe. There are many ways to generate money from the Internet. If you like to read, kindly pay a visit to the nearest book stores or sit in front of your computer and open online book stores like Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Click the ‘famous’ keyword Money Online and wuzzzz, lists of books will appear for your reference. In my opinion and it is an honest one to say that almost 90% from those books will not help you much. Those books only explain the general picture on how we as a beginner can generate hundreds or thousands of Dollars from the Internet.

In this article, the writer only list a couple of examples about names of program that mostly offered to a beginner, they are :

Pay Per Click : This program is very popular in my Country, and the big player for PPC program is Google, also known as Google Adsense. Most of the books I read suggested us to start making a blog, fill it with some articles in English then submitted the Url of the blog for approval. In here we start praying and hope Google will say yes to us, but unfortunately do you know that even our blog was approved and the ads were put in our main page, the profit generated from this program is only 6 dollars for 9 months of effort? – at least that is what happened to me the first time I do exactly what the book told me to do in 2007, almost three years ago. It didn’t explain that we need to generated traffic, do the best SEO on our blog and choose a suitable keyword in accordance with our domain name. I know I rush in and feel so passionate when the first time I read the book (I can’t tell you the name or the author, we must pay some respect) but I am sure I’m not the only person who has experience it.

Paid Review : The first time I heard about what this program offered me, it seems like the world give a huge hug and big smile for me. Why? Because it is so easy to collect money and transfer all of it to my Paypal account. What you need to do as an owner of a website or Blog is to registered your blog to site like ReviewMe or PayPerPost. But dreams will always be a dreams if we haven’t woke up yet. Let’s say that they approved your Blog, if your Pagerank is still 1, don’t hope to much that there will be a lots of review to be done. I am absolutely sure that most of the book only mentioned that the higher the Pagerank is then the higher the payout will be. By The way do you know what Pagerank is? The whole idea about this article is not to criticize the author of the books, because I am pretty sure that there are a lots of good books that surely can guide you the correct and reasonable way to earn some cash from the internet. I really hope that all the beginners Blogger could give extra attention on what they read before rush in and at the end got nothing but nil dollar. I am still learning too, just don’t give up easily. Google Pagerank

How are you today ? Have you heard about pagerank ? Well if you haven't you could read it in here. I want to share my problem through this article. Well, I found it difficult to raise the pagerank of this blog. Some suggestions from the internet saying that I should buy a domain with high pagerank, which means I must spend money, and that's what I currently avoid. Other advice is to get backlinks with the name of a famous site like Google or a web of government agencies like the Jakarta Official website or Unesco Official website

Others offer a quick and easy solution is 301 redirect method. This method was impressed illegal because it will only divert our website to another website. I am very very confused to choose the path of instant or do an hones way. By the way, one of my friends - Brother Herman has offered me to exchange link with his site, I really appreciate it , but with both of our blogs in lower pagerank I think it will be useless, but still I will give it a try. Thank you Brother.
